It seems impossible and yet there are many ways to travel for free.

Many organizations offer different programs to young people aged 15 to 30, to teach the language, work on farms or become volunteers.

Contents

1. Educational programs

Teaching english

Diverbo offers free vacations for English speakers, adults or teenagers, willing to spend a week with foreigners in Spain or Germany to help them practice their language skills.  You have to pay for your flight, but the program offers you full board.

You don’t need to be TEFL certified to teach English around the world, but it is a good way to prepare yourself for the job.
Work abroad to finance your trips to a inhabitant or to a farm

WWOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) will provide you with free accommodation, food and the opportunity to learn some new skills and crops.

2. Volunteering in organizations

Work as a volunteer in non-profit organizations

You can find announcements like in HelpX or Workaway networks.

“HelpX is an online listing of organic host farms, non-organic farms, farm stays, homestays, ranches, lodges, bed and breakfasts, backpacker hostels and even  sailboats that invite volunteers to stay with them for the short term in exchange for food and accommodation.

HelpX is primarily provided as a cultural exchange for vacationers who wish to work abroad, to stay with the locals and gain hands-on experience.

In the typical arrangement, the aide works an average of 4 hours a day and receives free accommodation and meals for their efforts.  “
